A Dassault Mirage 2000c, not the best choice but it works.

Haha, Amazing shot, I hate the fact that I can't find things like this until they become DD's.

For some reason I get a kick out of the ground crew wearing shorts, we don't get that option in USAF. Great vibrant color though in the photo.

Its feels more comfortable I think, even though the pilot, him, have to wear the @#&ing G-suit all over the seven hours of his watch !

Probably the CV knew you from my DD suggestion of a photo of yours :)
BTW: This one is so boring comparing to the rest of your photos... also I remember some other photos similar to this one already have gotten DD!

"Meh, why should I accept his suggestion, he's even a digital artist ... U know what it's better if I feature the photographer myself, I mean I'm the fucking CV of a photography section :smoking: "

As I am hopefully going into the USAF As a fighter pilot I can say that first off that is not a bomb is a extra fuel tank and also Why is the fueling probe extended in this picture? Just curious.

The Mirage 2000 doesn't have a retracted position. It sticks outside :)

good thing that bomb is still attached to the plane after the mission
Reply
:iconcigognes:
Cigognes Featured By Owner Apr 5, 2012
There's no bombs on the plane, she's a pure air-to-air (AA) fighter. She only carries AA missiles. The "bomb" is a fuel tank to give her longer "legs".

So the bomb looking thing is a fuel tank... Alright, I'll just watch out for these raining down from the sky next time :] [link]

Read a great book about how the Israeli's stole the plans for the Mirage and built their own. Any truth in it?
Reply
:iconcigognes:
Cigognes Featured By Owner Apr 5, 2012
No, they already had Mirage IIIs and Vs and built their Kfir version using the general frame of the aircraft.

LOL.

I'd have grounded that thing for a fuel leak. I for sure wouldn't have put a tin can under to catch the drippings and then put the plane on alert!

And since the guy's engine is already running, going under the plane to pick that can up isn't happening. I hope they have a fire extinguisher close.

Not so impressive... sorry.
